The way
that Carol uses action in her comics really helps emphasize movement and
excitement. For instance, when she illustrates George Clooney coming up to her
door with a bag of fast food and she says NO. Instead of just drawing herself
closing the door she instead exaggerated all the movements and used the word
"SLAM" across the frame in order to show the energy. Additionally, I
find that the way she draws varies slightly depending on whether or not the box
wil have action. Again, if we go back to the strip that shows Carol slamming
the door, the lines an the door and the shape of the arm is very curved and
distorted in comparison the the rest of the strip. This helps bring energy to
the strip.
